The "Pop-Out" Photoshop contest was held in February 2011. The participants were asked to use the PanosFX Out of Bounds Photoshop actions with their images. It was the most successful contest so far, with a record-high number (79) of very impressive entries that gave the judges a hard time!
- The image that got the highest score is the beautiful "Winter Beach" by 'Zeppanda', who picked the Comics, Analysis, and the Film Machine Photoshop actions.
- The second winner is 'DragonHandler' with his excellent "Steaming out" OoB. DragonHandler got his copies of the Film Machine and the Analysis Photoshop actions.
- The next two images got the same score, therefore we had 2 winners in the third place. These images are:
- "Knight's Fury", a very impressive medieval OoB by JayHamrick who picked the Old Paper Photoshop actions, and
- "Close Shave", another awesome OoB by Ted Taylor (btw, excellent work on the hair, Ted), who opted for a copy of the Magnifying Glass Photoshop actions.
"Winter Beach started out as a typical OOB. During this extremely cold winter, the water looked so beautiful I had to incorporate more -I kept trying different ‘blends’ and eventually it came together and felt right. I am thrilled that it was chosen from among so many beautiful, well-executed Out Of Bounds pictures.
I sincerely (and equally) thank the Panel of Experts and Panos members!!! I especially thank my 15 year old son, Michael, who mentioned how much he liked the picture. That alone persuaded this entry above others I felt may be more deserving. As much as I love photography - I am more enticed by the post production. Forever intrigued by effects such as OOB’s, I thank Panos FX for giving all of us such wonderfully written actions to explore our creativity “almost” effortlessly! He thinks of everything! Thank you, Panos!!!!"
