I am trying to use this new action with Photoshop CC 2017 (Windows 10) but I am struggling to make it work. When I click on the screen layer and insert a picture all I see is a layer with a picture. How do I save and exit? I am sure that I am missing something very obvious but can someone guide me please? Many thanks.

Hi Roy.
The "SCREEN" layer is a smart object. When you double click it, a new document opens in Photoshop's work area. It shows the contents of the smart object.
After you insert a picture (and maybe some text), you must save and close this document, to update the original image of the projector screen.
To save:
Press Ctrl-W (Mac: cmd-W). Click on "Save" when you are prompted to do so.

Let me know if you need more help.

Hi Panos - many thanks for your prompt response. I can insert text but am struggling to get a photo into the screen layer. I have tried dragging and dropping and copy and paste but do not seem able to get the photo onto the layer. Sorry to be so dim but your further advice would be much appreciated as always. Many thanks

Thanks!
Here's what you need to do, to place a photo onto the screen layer.

When the action finishes, go to the layers panel, and locate the "SCREEN" layer.
This layer is a smart object. This lets you edit its contents, whenever you wish.

Double click the "SCREEN" layer thumbnail.
A new document will open up, in your work area.
• Select the File > Place Embedded command. Load a photo of your preference and place it onto the white background.
• Hold down Shift-Alt (Mac: Shift-option) while placing, and drag a corner handle, to resize the photo proportionally.
• Double click to confirm and insert the photo..

You can also use the Text tool, to add your custom text.
You may want to add a Pattern adjustment layer, to add some texture to the background: with the SCREEN layer selected, select Layer > New Fill Layer > Pattern, from the menu. Select a pattern of your preference (e.g. from the "Grayscale paper" group of patterns).

When you finish editing, select: File > Save, from the menu.
Then select File > Close.
This will close the document, and update the original file with your changes.

Please let me know if you need ANY help.

Thanks Roy. I am glad I was able to help.
Another way to insert a picture, is the following:
Select the "SCREEN" layer.
Then press Shift-Ctrl-N (Mac: Shift-cmd-N).
Name the new layer as "Photo", check the "Use Previous Layer to Create Clipping Mask" box, and hit OK.
Now select the command: File > Place Embedded, load and place a photo. Any pixels beyond the margins of the projector screen, will be clipped off.

It's upon you to decide which method works best for you.
