I tried to create an animation using the new 'Photo and Envelope' Photoshop actions.
www.panosfx.com/free-photoshop-actions/photo-envelope

It is a short animation, yet it was quite tricky to create: I had to turn the top-flap layer into a smart object, then duplicate the photo and top-flap layers, and carefully work out the 'Opacity' and 'Transform' keyframes for the 4 layers.

I think that this is one of the times that moving the elements of the image from PS to PTE would make creating the animation much easier. Also, a whole slide show could be created by making it into a style and just adding more photos. I'm sure Lin could knock it out in minutes. I plan to give it a try when I get time. Wish I'd had this action back at Christmas. I did a show in PTE with photos coming out of an envelope from scratch and it would have been much better and easier with this as the basis. I've about given up animating things in 3D in PS.

Leon, I was thinking about you when I was creating this animation. We've been both struggling to tame Photoshop's Timeline panel. Sometimes it behaves so strangely. To make the top flap unfold (as shown at the beginning of the animation) I first activated the 'Transform' animation property. Then I pressed Ctrl-T and dragged the middle top transformation handle upwards. This is what every reasonable being would do. But the result was not what I expected: the top flap would perform a rotation around its Z axis, instead of unfolding . I tried various workarounds, until I managed to 'cheat' Photoshop. It appears that the team of Adobe developers responsible for the Timeline panel are operating in their own universe.

Hey Panos, I'm trying to publish a youtube video here but am unable to get this new forum format to work. I hover over the filmstrip and the dropdown shows "publisher" and "video" but when I click on either one nothing happens. How does one publish video now? I'll try to embed using the code icon above just to see what happens.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/npzGAEC69IU" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Leon, after several tries, I found that the best way to embed a video in this forum is to enter the following text in your message:

where XXXXXXXXXXX is the unique Youtube video code (in your example it is: npzGAEC69IU )
You don't have to use the code icon, just paste the text right into your message body.

Keep the code format for future reference ;)

I couldn't resist watching your video right on YouTube. Wow! Great!
How difficult was it to create this kind of animation in Pictures to Exe? In Photoshop it would require a lot of effort!
