Detailed description:

The “Impossible Photos” Photoshop actions various optical illusions of your photos, using an impressive range of the so-called “impossible objects” (triangles, squares, pentagon, hearts, ellipses and never ending staircases).

The actions make extensive use of smart objects, allowing you to manipulate the filters applied, or replace easily the photos of the cube facets.

There are 4 groups of actions contained in the set:

  1. The "Impossible Frames" actions.
  2. The "Triangle Overlay" actions.
  3. The "Triangle of Cubes" actions.
  4. The "Impossible staircases" actions.

The "Impossible Frames" actions:

With these actions you can add an impossible frame anywhere to your photo. There are 6 different frames available:

  • An impossible heart with thick edges.
  • An impossible square with thin edges.
  • An impossible ellipse.
  • An impossible square with thick edges.
  • An impossible square with thin edges.
  • An impossible pentagon.

Each one of these actions creates 3 different renditions of the original photo:

3 renditions
  • in the first rendition, the layers are arranged in a way that makes it very easy to create an Out of Bounds (OoB) effect.
To find out how to create your impossible OoB effects, watch this tutorial.
  • in the second rendition, the area outside the frame is sketched. You can replace the sketch filter with a different Photoshop filter, and create your custom effects!
  • in the third version the area outside the frame is grayed out.

The "Triangle Overlay" actions:

The two "Triangle Overlay" actions work slightly differently.

They let you define an area of your photo that is then shown through an impossible triangle overlay. You can choose from a thicker or thinner triangle:

Each action create 3 different renditions of the original photo:

3 triangle renditions
  • the first rendition is more minimal, with a plain background.
  • in the second rendition, the background is sketched. You can replace the sketch filter with a different Photoshop filter, and create your custom effects!
  • in the third version the background is grayed out.

The "Triangle of Cubes" actions:

The "Triangle of Cubes" actions create an impossible triangle, made up of 9 Cubes. The Photoshop version allows you to place a different on each cube face. The Photoshop Elements version lets you use 3 different photos.

The "Impossible Staircases" actions:

The "Impossible Staircases" actions create two different types of never ending staircases, made up of 10 and 8 cubes, respectively:
